iWave Donates Conferencing Services During Fleet Week: Sailors Arriving in New York Are Treated to Free Calls Home

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- May 25, 2005 -- iWave, a New York City based telecommunications consulting and services firm, has extended its relationship with the USO of Metropolitan New York by contributing 250 audio conferencing cards to sailors during Fleet Week celebrations. Fleet Week is a United States Navy and Coast Guard tradition where active military ships recently deployed overseas dock for one week, allowing sailors to explore the port cities.

Previously iWave donated audio conferencing services for distribution to 250 troops in time for Mother's Day, offering each serviceman and woman the opportunity to conference with up to four family members and friends in the United States.

Each sailor will be allotted 150 minutes to be used on the iWave audio conferencing platform during Fleet Week. Additionally, they will have the ability to record the event electronically for distribution to family and friends. The cards will be given free to the first 250 sailors to arrive at the USO NY's Eighth Avenue headquarters.

"iWave has been a terrific partner for the USO," remarks Rosemarie Dackerman, USO Executive Director for Metropolitan New York. "With this program expansion, sailors are connecting with their families both while stationed abroad and passing through the U.S."

The USO of Metropolitan New York along with its audio conferencing partner, iWave, has also established a donation site for future shipments of conferencing services to military personnel.
