Dacom Selects Acme Packet Session Border Controllers for its NGN; Acme Packet Enables Secure, High-Quality Hosted IP Services for Korean Tier One Service Provider

BURLINGTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 26, 2006 -- Acme Packet(R) announced today that Dacom, the second largest long-distance service provider in Korea, is deploying the Net-Net(R) session border controllers in its national, VoIP network that connects residential and business customers all over Korea. The Net-Net products are being integrated with the Dacom's Next Generation IP Softswitch platform to offer more enhanced services.

The deployment of Acme Packet's session border controllers, to be performed by CommVerge Solutions Korea, a network integration partner of Acme Packet in Korea, is underway, with a target to cover Seoul and most major cities in Korea to offer VoIP and enhanced services in the next couple of years. Upon completion of the deployment, Dacom will be able to expand its current service offering of VoIP and high-speed data with secure, high-quality video conferencing and other multimedia IP services, all over its existing backbone infrastructure.

Hosted NAT traversal, as well as multiprotocol support with interworking functionality, allows Dacom to maximize its service reach, delivering premium IP services to business and residential subscribers.
