Netli's NetLightning Service Selected by SAP to Accelerate Application Delivery to Its Customers; Enterprise Software Giant Taps Netli to Improve End User Experience and Further Ensure Application Adoption
PALO ALTO, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 15, 2006 -- Netli(R), the fastest growing global leader in Application Delivery Network (ADN) services, today announced that SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, has deployed Netli's NetLightning(R) service globally to further ensure availability and LAN-like response times for customers accessing the SAP(R) Service Marketplace extranet. SAP Service Marketplace is segmented into specific portals tailored to end-user needs and enables full collaboration among SAP employees, customers, and partners. With Netli, SAP has been able to ensure an outstanding user experience by accelerating business processes involving its customers and partners.
"SAP's own portals are now optimized through Netli services to help ensure maximum productivity and efficiency," said Ralf Kuhn, program director of Services at SAP. "The experience of our customers around the world as they click through to our support site is critical to the way our support services are perceived. With Netli, all of our customers have a first-rate support experience in accessing our downloads and support services, regardless of geographical location."
SAP required accelerated global application response times without sacrificing its single sign-on security and authentication model. SAP was impressed with the performance and transparency of Netli's NetLightning service, which requires no capital outlay or any changes to applications, servers, or software clients. Once implemented, the Netli service was so successful that SAP soon began using the service for another application: its software download area to increase performance and ensure successful large file downloads during high packet loss and congestion conditions. Netli's transparent, quick-to-deploy solution required none of the security development efforts or complex file management issues associated with traditional Content Delivery Network solutions.
"Companies like SAP serving a global customer base are often faced with costly data center build-outs to ensure customers, partners and employees continue to receive a world class user experience," said Willie M. Tejada, Netli vice president for Marketing and Business Development. "By utilizing Netli, SAP can accelerate their applications and continue to deliver the industry standard in user experience while avoiding data center build-out or the costly deployment and management of appliance-based acceleration solutions in each of their data centers."
SAP joins a growing list of internationally-known, brand-name corporations that recognize the business and IT benefits of Netli's comprehensive suite of patented Application Delivery Network (ADN) managed services. Netli transparently enables global eBusiness from a local, centralized infrastructure, delivering LAN-like response times for users anywhere in the world. Netli's current customers include Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Toyota, Tektronix, Lexis Nexis, and LookSmart.
"Companies are increasingly using the Internet as a global eBusiness infrastructure delivering important business applications via Internet connections," said Peter Christy, principal with Internet Research Group. "Connectivity for applications is critical, but so is application performance. Unlike SAP, most companies don't fully appreciate the response-time issues they will encounter and the effect this will have on their users, and in turn, on the value delivered by these applications if not addressed. Netli's continuing emphasis on transparent deployment and response-time guarantees provides enterprises with a valuable service to ensure the availability, performance, and security of their world-wide eBusiness infrastructure."
Netli's patented technology and services include NetLightning, NetliOffload(TM), NetliContinuity(TM), and NetliView(TM). NetLightning, the company's flagship offering, delivers a business-quality Internet with global sub-second response times, high availability, and secure access to Web applications. NetliOffload is a transparent, next-generation static file and content offload service that can immediately deliver powerful advantages over other traditional content-delivery services, including enhanced security -- no need to replicate data across thousands of servers; superior performance -- no need to warm caches; and simplified administration -- no need to tag, upload, and manage content. NetliContinuity transparently enables failover, backup, or regulatory compliance for organizations with two or more data centers without having to install software or hardware devices. NetliView is a comprehensive measurement and reporting service, which enables organizations to continuously monitor the health of their business-critical, Netli-optimized applications.
