Supply Chains Get Annual Tune Up; Nineteenth User Group Conference Helps Orchestrate Supply Chain Success

SAN ANTONIO, Texas --(Business Wire)-- March 1, 2006 -- Following the theme "Supply Chain in Harmony," the Demand Management Association's 19th Annual meeting featured top-performing technologies and real-world tips for planning and forecasting. The meeting is for users of Demand Solutions, software to optimize company forecasts, production plans and point-of-sale (POS) data analysis. Several sessions featured users describing techniques that have improved their processes and increased profits.

The three-day event kicked off with a keynote address by Barry Wishner, a leading authority on how successful companies out-wit, out-smart and out-perform their competition. Wishner delivered tips for revolutionizing the supply chain: "Take no established practice for granted and challenge all assumptions," Wishner said. "Put everything you are currently doing on trial." Wishner dubbed this "organized abandonment," and it was one of several tips that will "build stronger partnerships, yield higher profits and increase market share."

"We are helping companies large and small compete through demand-driven supply networks," said Mike Campbell, president of Demand Management, Inc., maker of Demand Solutions. "This conference allows users to share the best techniques with each other, and gives our developers an opportunity to meet with users face-to-face."

Every year Demand Management, Inc. presents the Crystal Ball Awards for outstanding contributions to continued software improvements in Demand Solutions through collaboration with the company. This year's recipients were Karol King, Todd Bettencourt and Dawn Valentine of Lindt & Sprungli Inc., Aydin Aksoy of Murad, Inc., Karen Robertson of Pacific Market International LLC, Sam Porcasi of KIK Custom Products, Jim Wente of IPEX Inc., Dan Kroft of Therma-Tru Corp., and Becky Ream of Stanley-MAC Tools.
