(Telecomworldwire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Mobile operator Vodafone Portugal has confirmed it will broadcast the
Live Earth concerts taking place on 7 July 2007, live to mobile.

Over 150 performers will provide 24 hours of continuous music during
Live Earth, which is expected to bring more than 2bn people together
while it works to raise awareness of climate changes.

Vodafone said it is creating a Live Earth Channel on its Mobile TV
service, enabling broadcast of the concerts live to its customers. It
will also make the concerts available in recorded form on the Vodafone
Mobile TV service's Live Earth Channel until the end of July.

The Live Earth event is being held in eight cities: London, New York,
Sydney, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Hamburg and Johannesburg,
covering all continents, with all locations designed to be
environmentally friendly. It will feature artists including Red Hot
Chili Peppers, Madonna, Smashing Pumpkins, The Police, Lenny Kravitz,
Metallica, Shakira, Jack Johnson, Rihana, Linkin Park, James Blunt,
Joss Stone and Enrique Iglesias.
