SPG Ltd: Aeromark Tracking Solution Helps SPG Ltd To Enhance Its
Customer Services And Improve SLA Performance
(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
RDATE:10072008
BEDFORD -- SPG Ltd, a leading retail refrigeration services company,
has successfully deployed Aerotrack, a vehicle tracking solution from
Aeromark, an innovative mobile technology company. Deployment of
Aerotrack will help SPG to improve the service to its customers and to
more efficiently meet service level agreements (SLAs) through improved
visibility of its mobile site installation and service engineers.
"Aeromark's Aerotrack has proved to be a very cost effective solution.
It provides all of the real-time tracking capability we require and a
key plus for me is that I can access information via the web from home,
out of core business hours," said Dennis Young, Transport Manager, for
SPG. "As a modular system we only have to pay for the service we want
and not for functionality we do not currently need. However, as and
when our business requirements change we can upgrade the service to add
increased features to meet our new requirements."
SPG is a 24x7 operation. The nature of the refrigeration market means
that it has to react quickly in order to get its engineers on site to
resolve issues as soon as possible. "The bulk of our customers are
supermarket chains and it is vital for them that their refrigerated
goods are kept at the required temperature. Perished stock costs money
and means they are unable to meet the demands of their customers,"
explained Young.
In order to improve the monitoring and management of its mobile
engineers SPG required a tracking solution. "We were looking for a
solution to help us to ensure that our engineers could rapidly respond
to customer call outs. We needed to be able to quickly and easily
identify the closest or most available engineer. Additionally we wanted
track the exact location of our vehicles, what time they left the
depot, what time they were likely to arrive at the customer site, when
they arrived and how long they were there," added Young.
Installation and repair of refrigeration equipment often takes place
out of normal office hours and it was important that SPG was able to
deploy a solution that allowed it to accurately cross reference actual
events against those manually entered on engineers' worksheets. This
is important in meeting and proving SLAs, especially if a customer
questions when an engineer arrived and the length of time he was on
site.
With sites in and around St Neots in Cambridgeshire, SPG offers a full
provision of services from initial design and testing, case
manufacture, endwall production and final on-site installation.
"Aerotrack has helped us to be more responsive. We can now instantly
track where our engineers are located and can quickly identify which is
the nearest to a job. This has resulted in improved productivity and
efficiency which in turn enables us to offer better services to our
customers," concluded Young.
