Bit9 Earns Spot on Bank Technology News 'Innovators' List
Dec 10, 2008 (10Meters.com via COMTEX) --
Bit9, a provider of Enterprise Application Whitelisting, announced that
Bank Technology News has included Bit9 in its seventh annual ranking of
"The Innovators" for 2008.
"The Innovators" is the publication's annual ranking of 25 people,
companies and technologies that represent the most progressive thinking
in financial services. For its seventh annual list, Bank Technology
News considered 200 companies, looking for what it describes as:
"technologists and technology shops whose clarity of vision and call to
action is proving to be good for what ails the (financial) industry
during its big cleanup and setting direction for the future."
The Bit9 Parity solution was recognized for its enterprise application
whitelisting functions that proactively protects against unauthorized
software, including zero-day and targeted attacks. Whether it is
malware, peer-to-peer applications, rootkits or other unauthorized
applications downloaded intentionally or unintentionally, unauthorized
software running on endpoints can result in compliance issues, costly
cleanups and data leakage.
The Bit9 Parity allows organizations to control the software and
devices that operate on desktops, laptops and servers across the
network, without relying on traditional malware signatures or
behavioral patterns. Banks and financial services institutions choose
Bit9 Parity to control and secure endpoints by whitelisting software
and devices that are acceptable to their compliance and security
policies. In a locked-down environment, only applications on a
company's whitelist are allowed to execute.
Financial services organizations such as Omgeo, Putnam Investments and
Thomson Financial count on Bit9 to secure their desktops, laptops and
servers.
"Over the past seven years, Bank Technology News and its editorial
directors have highlighted people, organizations and solutions that are
bringing innovation to the financial sector and shaping the future of
the industry," said Patrick Morley, CEO of Bit9. "We are excited that
our Bit9 Parity solution continues to be recognized by the publication
and its readership for helping enterprises secure their endpoints."
