MasterCard launches Mobile MoneySend service in US

MasterCard has launched a new person-to-person payment service called Mobile MasterCard MoneySend in the US.
The company has developed this service based on its MoneySend P2P platform, in partnership with Obopay.
To use the new SMS-based service customers need to register for an account with their cellphone number and personal information.
The company will provide the registered customers with a virtual number to make commercial transactions through text messages, mobile browsers, dedicated mobile applications, and a desktop PC. According to media reports, the users can also get a pre-paid card that can be used in retail locations.
