Qwest expands network service contract with Arizona State University

Sep 25, 2009 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Arizona State University (ASU) has expanded its relationship with Qwest Communications (NYSE:Q) with a new five year, USD54m communications agreement, Qwest announced on Thursday.

Under the new contract, Qwest will deploy its Managed IP Communications to manage all of ASU's voice, data and wireless services to provide students, faculty and staff easy and efficient Internet access, voice communications and computing capabilities across the university's four campuses.


Qwest said that its services will provide ASU with a centrally managed, hosted, scalable, flexible and distributed architecture for voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and unified communications. Savings to the university are expected to be USD1.48m a year.
