NGN Forum and IMS Forum Announces Plugfest 8 Results at Supercomm

(Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/21/09 -- The NGN IMS Forum(TM) announced at Supercomm today that it will present the results today from its eighth NGN IMS Plugfest?. This IMS/NGN interoperability event which was held at the UNH InterOperability Lab (UNH IOL) in Durham, NH was completed on October 9th.


Plugfest 8 focused on Interoperability for voice and multimedia applications, BSS/OSS and Security, inter and intra network. The Forum also announced that it will hold its Member/Working Groups Meeting today at Supercomm from 12:30pm-1:005pm at the Exploration Theater on the Show Floor. This meeting is open to the public.

Plugfest 8 Results will be presented at the Exploration Theater on the Supercomm show floor on Wed Oct 21 from 4:15pm-5:00 pm. Plugfest 8 participants will discuss the accomplishments of Plugfest 8 and the planning of Plugfest 9 and Plugfest 10 events for next year.

This session will address the technical and business aspects of multimedia, all-IP services. It will cover all types of interfaces used in IMS, NGN, LTE and WiMAX control and management, real time charging, network operations (OSS/BSS) and integration with NGN applications and services.

The session will address the needs of service providers, Diameter protocol stack vendors, users, and equipment vendors delivering NGN functional elements such as Call Session Control, Home Subscriber Servers, Charging, Policy Management, and Security. They will also discuss -- testing for roaming and visiting subscribers.

Plugfest 8 participants included: Comverse, HP, Marben Products, Mu Dynamics, NTT-AT, Radvision, Sonus, Tekelec, Tektronix, Testing Technologies GmbH, US Government Communications, Japan NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology), among others.
