Nortel delays auction of Optical Networking and Carrier Ethernet business

Nortel Networks Corporation (OTCBB: NRTLQ) announced today that it has
decided to delay the previously announced auction of its Optical
Networking and Carrier Ethernet businesses, which was scheduled for
today.
The company said that the decision was taken to facilitate ongoing
discussions with interested parties. Qualified bidders are now required
to submit offers by 17 November 2009.
Further updates regarding the auction process and the sale of these
businesses are expected from Nortel over the next week.
