Zeugma SmartBoost Honored with TelcoTV Vision Award

Nov 20, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Zeugma Systems announced that its SmartBoost application has won TelcoTV's Vision Award for the "Innovation in Broadband Networks" category.

Zeugma said its SmartBoost application enables broadband service providers (BSPs) to implement the ability for subscribers to self-provision temporary bandwidth increases.

"This year's TelcoTV Vision Awards amply demonstrate that creativity and innovation are still driving the service provider video market," said Joe Braue, Senior Vice President and Group Director for Light Reading, which produces the TelcoTV conference and exhibition. "Our knowledgeable judging panel of service providers, journalists, and analysts has indicated that these winners are the most important video products for carriers to check out and evaluate in the coming year." Kevin Walsh, vice president of marketing at Zeugma Systems, said, "We are thrilled to have received the TelcoTV Vision Award and believe it further validates Zeugma's approach giving subscribers more control over their broadband services. Broadband service providers have long wanted to give their subscribers the ability to dynamically vary the bandwidth they consume, but found it difficult to implement this feature both technically and operationally. Zeugma's SmartBoost makes it much easier to implement this type of service while also giving providers the ability to create and market more granular, flexible bandwidth offerings." SmartBoost runs within the Zeugma Open Application Sandbox (OAS), an application support framework employing the Zeugma Service Node's (ZSN's) scalable, high-performance compute grid, the company said.
