Dec 11, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Tatara Systems, a company specializing in SIP-based femtocell convergence, announced that E.Y. Snowden, Tatara Systems president and CEO, has been elected to the 2010 Executive Committee of the Board for CTIA - The Wireless Association.
This appointment follows Snowden's election to the CTIA Board of Directors in October. CTIA is a Washington, D.C.-based international industry trade group representing wireless communication sectors including cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio.
Snowden is rejoining the CTIA Executive Committee, having served three consecutive terms from 2005 to 2007 on the Executive Committee and the CTIA Board of Directors during his leadership of Boston Communications Group, Inc. (BCGI). As a member of the CTIA Executive Committee, he will assist in representing the interests of suppliers and addressing the essential issues facing the wireless industry, according to a release.
"It is a great honor to once again be chosen for the CTIA Executive Committee," said Snowden. "The rapid convergence of wireless networks and the internet brings unprecedented opportunities along with a new set of challenges. From my vantage point as the leader of a company directly involved in the migration to 3G and 4G wireless networks based on an all-IP architecture, I look forward to contributing to the industry's quest to deliver on the promise of Rich Communication Suite services as well as it's endeavor to ensure a mutually beneficial regulatory framework for consumers and carriers. It gives me great satisfaction to serve CTIA and the wireless industry during this exciting time."
