BRIEF: Horry County police arrest one in bank robbery near Conway

Mar 12, 2010 (The Sun News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Horry County police has one person in custody after a bank robbery earlier today near Conway, Sgt. Robert Kegler said.

A man robbed a Waccamaw Bank branch located at 112 Medical Park Drive in Conway about 11:50 a.m. Friday, Kegler said.

Dispatchers were able to provide police officers with information about the man's vehicle as he fled the scene from witnesses and officers stopped the vehicle in Carolina Forest, Kegler said. The man was arrested in the parking lot of the former Piggly Wiggly shopping center in Carolina Forest.


No one was hurt during the incident and an undisclosed amount of money was taken during the robbery, Kegler said.
