BRIEF: Patient jumps out third-floor hospital window

MAKKAH, Mar 20, 2010 (Arab News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A man believed to be mentally ill was seriously injured on Saturday after falling from the third floor window of a private hospital in Makkah while attempting to escape.


A hospital source said that the man was mentally ill and that he managed to sneak away from doctors, reach the hospital's third floor, open a window and jump.

The man landed on his back and suffered several broken bones and internal bleeding, the source said.

He was taken to intensive care where his condition is said to be stable. The hospital is investigating the incident.
