Strong Attendance Kicks Off FOSE Conference and Exhibition

FALLS CHURCH, Va. --(Business Wire)-- FOSE 2010, the most comprehensive event for government information technology (IT) professionals, today announced that the Conference and Exhibition had a record first day, with attendees flooding the show floor and conference. Professionals from across industry and government convened today in Washington to discuss the latest issues in government technology, as well as share ideas and new innovations, from cyber security to cloud computing. Attendance has already broken last year's opening day mark and exhibitor registration has exceeded expectations. FOSE is being held March 23-25, and is co-located for its second year with GovSec/U.S. Law, being held March 23-24, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

A standing-room only audience greeted Anthony Zuiker, creator and executive producer of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, who delivered a keynote address on, "Cross Platforming: A Visionary's Use of Technology." The presentation highlighted ways that government can embrace collaboration tools to foster creativity and information-sharing across agencies and within their own departments. Zuiker's message underscored one of the founding themes of the conference: to leverage technology, not only to make government more efficient, but to make it more responsive to citizen needs and more reactive to future challenges.

The 2nd annual CloudCamp at FOSE was also a standing-room only event. The "unconference" allowed attendees to determine the conference topics. Government and industry attendees were able to share experiences, challenges and solutions for migrating to the cloud.

Attendees also crowded the show floor to see, firsthand, new technology products available to government. "This is our first year at FOSE," said Paul Foung, Vice President of Archtech Electronics Corporation, FOSE booth #2324. "As the federal market is a very important customer for Archtech, we knew FOSE was pivotal in our sales strategy for 2010 and beyond."
