GovSec/U.S. Law Opens with High-Level Keynotes, Significant Announcement

FALLS CHURCH, Va. --(Business Wire)-- GovSec/U.S. Law, produced by 1105 Government Information Group, the leading provider of integrated information and media for the government information technology (IT) market, today announced it had a significant increase in exhibitors and attendees at the opening day of its 2010 Conference and Exhibition. Exhibitors showcased physical and IT security solutions, and provided an opportunity for thought leaders and cutting-edge technologists to engage in discussions on topics such as domestic and international terrorism deterrence and detection; critical planning and infrastructure; as well as cybersecurity and information assurance.

In addition, exhibitors leveraged GovSec/U.S. Law as a venue to promote important offerings to the homeland security market, including the Carbon E7 by Carbon Motors, the world's first and only purpose-built law enforcement patrol vehicle specifically designed for the law enforcement community. Carbon Motors announced its partnership with the BMW Group to supply advanced clean diesel engines, allowing the vehicle to reduce emissions, and save fuel costs.

"GovSec/U.S. Law was an ideal venue to announce our powertrain partnership," said Stacy Dean Stephens, Co-Founder and Director Communications for Carbon Motors. "With GovSec's location in the center of Washington, DC, we were able to meet with law enforcement officials at the federal, state and local levels and showcase the unique properties the Carbon E7 is able to provide this mission-critical community. We look forward to expanding our relationships with the law enforcement personnel we met during GovSec/U.S. Law." Two security-oriented keynotes were popular with attendees. The first, "The Practice and Technology of Policing Today and into the Future: Not Just Part of an Exit Strategy Anymore," was given by Bill Bratton, Former Police Chief of Los Angeles/New York/Boston, and Chairman of Altegrity Risk International.

The second address was given by Deputy Assistant Director Steven Chabinsky of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on, "The Cyber Threat: Who's Doing What to Whom." Chabinsky discussed how potential terrorists and criminals can use cyber attacks to potentially create wide-scale impacts against citizens and national security.
