DJ IMF's Strauss-Kahn: Poland Right In Delaying Euro Adoption-Report
WARSAW, Mar 29, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) --
Poland's government is right in postponing the euro adoption for now, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, said in an interview to the Gazeta Wyborcza daily.
Flexible foreign exchange rates helped Poland's economy to absorb shocks resulting from the global crisis, he said.
Still, adopting the euro should remain Poland's longer term goal, he said. That should be accompanied with responsible fiscal policy and structural reforms aimed at enhancing labor productivity and competitiveness, he said.
