Mitel chosen by National Unified Procurement Company in Saudi Arabia
Jun 09, 2010 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) --
Unified communications solutions provider Mitel (Nasdaq:MITL) announced
on Wednesday that Saudi Arabian healthcare supply chain company
National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) has selected Mitel Virtual
Solutions.
No financial details were disclosed.
According to the company, by selecting Virtual Mitel Communications
Director (Virtual MCD) as the backbone of its system, NUPCO gains a
scalable system that is intuitive for its workforce. In the first phase
of deployment, NUPCO has rolled out Virtual MCD at its head office,
providing the ability to network individual offices and remote
locations seamlessly.
The rollout of the Mitel solution coincides with NUPCO's implementation
of a virtualisation strategy, with a goal of complete data centre
virtualisation using VMware. Virtual MCD, which leverages VMware
vSphere 4, is expected to enable NUPCO to consolidate voice and data
applications onto a single server, lowering server hardware costs and
maintenance time for IT staff and reducing operational costs.
NUPCO has also selected the Mitel Applications Suite (MAS), which
provides a suite of software applications including Mitel Audio and Web
Conferencing (AWC), Mitel Business Dashboard and the Mitel Teleworker
Solution on a single server. It provides a single point of access to
administer applications and optionally manage all users on Virtual MCD.
In addition, NUPCO is planning a rollout of Mitel Unified Communicator
(UC) Mobile to enable employees to link an office extension with any
other telephone, mobile or landline.
The company will also be setting up a contact centre for inbound calls.
Mitel Customer Service Manager will enable contact centre employees to
implement an intelligent queuing system designed to effectively route
all calls. In addition, Unified Communicator (UC) Advanced will provide
agents with screen pop-ups displaying customer information that enables
for a more personalised experience.
