BRIEF: Bradenton man charged with unlicensed telemarketing
SARASOTA, Jun 22, 2010 (The Bradenton Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A Bradenton man and his Sarasota business partner have been arrested on charges of making telemarketing calls without a license, according to a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services report.
State agents arrested Nicholas Antonio Salerno, 40, of Bradenton, and Ricky Permanand, 43, of Sarasota, after investigators found they were operating a telemarketing business in Sarasota without a license.
The pair were operating a business called Timeline Debt Resolutions and during a compliance inspection, DACS agents found the men did not have a license to make telemarketing calls.
Salerno entered into a fine agreement with the agency for $5,000 for failing to register with the DACS, but the check was issued on an account with insufficient funds. Agents arrested Salerno on a felony charge of unlicensed commercial telephone sales and issuance of a worthless check. On Monday, agents also arrested Permanand on a charge of unlicensed commercial telephone sales.
