Hezbollah: Israeli spying attempts in Lebanon "more dangerous than ever"

BEIRUT, Jul 18, 2010 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Lebanese MP and member of Hezbollah 's parliamentary bloc Hassan Fadlallah warned Sunday that Israeli spying attempts against his country became "more dangerous now more than ever." The country's state-run National News Agency (NNA) quoted Fadlallah as saying that the Shiite group will work towards defeating the "Israeli scheme" against Lebanon.


"This will ultimately lead to the fall of the Israeli enemy, who was unable to face the (Lebanese) resistance in the battlefield, and so has resorted to espionage in the war against Hezbollah," he said.

Lebanese authorities have recently arrested a third man on suspicion of spying for Israel days after the arrest of Tareq Rabaa suspected of being an accomplice of telecom technician Charbel Qazzi, who is currently standing charges of spying for Israel.

Another telecom employee suspected of spying for Israel escaped two days ago to the Jewish state through Aiteroun crossing in the southern city of in Bint Jbeil, according to a report by An-Nahar newspaper.
