Baca Valley Telephone Reaches Outside Network Footprint on Mammoth Networks' Fiber and Data Circuits
SEATTLE --(Business Wire)--
(BOOTH #39) Today from the OPASTCO 2010 Summer Convention and Tradeshow,
Mammoth Networks (News - Alert) (www.mammothnetworks.com)
reported that Baca Valley Telephone Company is leveraging Mammoth's
Layer-2 DSL to expand outside its network footprint. As a
facilities-based aggregator of fiber and data circuits, Mammoth empowers
Baca Valley with a variable-cost solution to deliver its telephony
services in new markets.
Mammoth Networks is unique in that it aggregates multiple data services
onto one platform, and delivers a one-stop shop for network outsourcing.
It has built a multi-state, multi-LATA private network for the benefit
of independent telephony carriers, and specializes in service within
Qwest (News - Alert)-served states.
Prior to its partnership with Mammoth, Baca Valley went the route of
"fixed-cost" fiber to reach the Qwest area they served. With Mammoth,
the company no longer needs a Qwest circuit or a sizeable upfront
investment; it benefits from a low variable-cost solution.
In addressing its partnership with Mammoth Networks, Kim Atwater, Baca
Valley Telephone Information Systems Technician, commented that, "We
wish the Mammoth offering was brought tous long ago. Mammoth's services
have not only saved us half of what we were paying before, but have been
much more reliable. In addition, the support staff has been exceptional,
so easy to work with - they really deserve a pat on the back."
"We are proud to work with the Baca Valley team, and take great pride in
our ability to help them expand into new markets with unprecedented ease
and the variable-cost program best-suited to their size, scope, and
budget," said Mammoth CEO, Brian Worthen.
He continued, "We have built our business on providing rural carriers
and ILECS, such as Baca Valley, with the flexible resources they need to
grow their business and achieve new heights in today's evolving
telecommunications marketplace."
Mammoth Networks provides meet-point circuits and long-haul private-line
into other local exchange carrier (LEC) territories. Its core business
is Layer 2 aggregation of Qwest's ATM DSL, covering each of Qwest's 27
LATAs. Mammoth also had the benefit of performing resale work for Qwest,
giving it a leg-up in installation and troubleshooting when dealing with
Qwest in its role as a single point of interface for service ordering,
installation and operation.
Earlier in the year, Mammoth announced that its most recent fiber outlay
was lit in Denver, which will be used to aggregate rural exchange
connectivity from around the Rocky Mountains.
