AT&T announces expansion of 3G mobile broadband network between Syracuse and Watertown

(EquityBites Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US wireless holding company AT&T (NYSE:T) has expanded its third generation (3G) mobile broadband network between Syracuse and Watertown, New York.

The company said on Friday that this expansion will extend access for advanced mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content to customers in the areas of Adams, Lacona, Mannsville, Sandy Creek, Orwell, Pulaski, Mexico, Albion, New Haven, Parish, Amboy and Hastings.

Also, the new 3G mobile broadband sites enhance service along the Route 81 corridor between North Syracuse and Watertown as well as along the Route 104 corridor between Route 81 and Oswego.

In addition, AT&T recently upgraded 3G cell sites nationwide to High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) 7.2. Future plans include another upgrade to HSPA+ technology at the end of this year followed by the initial deployment next year of LTE, the next-generation of wireless technology.
