TELESTE ENTERS POLISH SYSTEM INTEGRATOR MARKET FOR IP VIDEO SOLUTIONS THROUGH
ACQUISITION
Teleste has acquired the total share capital of Satlan, Poland, a system
integrator focusing on IP video and broadband solutions for Polish operators and
service providers.
Through this acquisition, Teleste is further expanding its market presence as a
video services solution partner for cable operators, broadcasters and IPTV
service providers. The Polish market is attractive due to its large size,
growing economy and rapidly developing competitive industry around TV services
distribution. The customers will benefit from Satlan's strong engineering
capabilities, intimate knowledge of Polish operators and product offering of its
existing partners combined with Teleste's global technology knowledge and
product offering on IP video and broadband solutions. Satlan's engineering
capabilities is also an important addition to Teleste's existing global team of
IP video professionals.
Satlan Sp.z o.o is a leading vendor of digital head-ends, IPTV solutions and
cable network infrastructure in Poland. In 2009, the net sales of the company
stood at approximately EUR 6 million. The impact of the acquisition to Teleste's
net sales for 2010 is estimated to be approximately EUR 2 million. The
acquisition increases the number of Teleste personnel by approximately 30
persons. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the deal. The
former owners continue to be in charge of management of the company. The
business will be part of Teleste´s Video and Broadband Solutions business area.
