4-Hers compete at county and state fairs

Ogle County 4-H'ers had an award-winning experience as exhibitors in the Illinois State Fair, Aug. 13-22 in Springfield.
This year, 49 4-H'ers entered their project exhibits in the state junior department general projects show as Ogle County 4-H delegates. All of them traveled to the Illinois State Fair with their project exhibits and participated in conference-style judging.
State judges gaveall exhibits an "award of excellence" rosette. The Ogle County 4-H exhibitors were Gregory Bolhous of Mount Morris, natural resources; Ryan Dillavou of Mount Morris, aerospace; Katherine Edwards of Byron, photography; Aaron Elliott of Egan, video; Sarah Elliott of Egan, geology; Contessa Farris of Forreston, foods and nutrition; Andrea Gleiter of Oregon, visual arts; Emily Homman of Leaf River, public presentations; Melissa Homman of Leaf River, floriculture; Jessica Keys of Rochelle, health; Nathan Keys of Rochelle, video; Courtney Lima of Leaf River, photography; Samantha Lima of Leaf River, visual arts; Athena Marshel of Rochelle, foods and nutrition; Stephanie Merlak of Polo, fashion revue; Jordan Mingus of Rochelle, robotics; Bryce Paxson of Davis Junction, computer science; Rebekah Paxson of Davis Junction; foods and nutrition; Christopher Pedersen of Byron, horticulture; Christopher Radamacher of Polo, woodworking; Elizabeth Stauffer of Polo, photography; Monty Typer of Leaf River, geology; and Megan Wolfe of Oregon, fashion revue.
The best of the best were awarded an additional "superior" rating.
