Smarter Utility - Memphis Light, Gas and Water Selects BP Logix

Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW), the nation's largest three-service municipal utility has selected BP Logix to automate the utility's key documents.

Electricity is supplied by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and MLGW is TVA's largest customer. Memphis Light, Gas and Water provides services to nearly 423,000 customers. Via a distribution network that measures more than 4,650 miles, natural gas is delivered to customers. Residents of Memphis enjoy water derived from a local aquifer while many other utilities obtain drinking water from surface lakes or rivers, the company stated in a press release.

“Customers will continue to look for solutions that help them accomplish faster and higher returns – and accelerate time to value,” stated Jay O'Brien, CEO of BP Logix, Inc. “We are pleased that Memphis Light, Gas and Water selected Process Director as its electronic forms and workflow solution. BP Logix offered the ability to turn our existing forms into a template our users could relate to and use. In addition the product offers the features we wanted most.”

Customers of MLGW gave the utility an “A” in reliability, customer satisfaction and customer perception, as validated in a recent customer survey conducted by a third party. Having recently upgraded its intranet, MLGW's IT group wanted to automate the workflows and forms used to manage its business. Apart from IT Security and Telecom Requests, these forms ranged from Employee Movement and Injury Investigations.

Recently, the company announced the availability of Process Director/Compliance Edition. Designed to address the needs of organizations to demonstrate compliance with both regulatory and industry standards, Process Director/Compliance Edition provides detailed monitoring, analysis, auditing and reporting.

Process Director/Compliance Edition helps organizations easily build and operate fluid, reliable, and dynamic processes, reduces the organization's liability risk and ensures that a consistent approach is available to all managers, auditors and regulators. Pricing for the product begins at $65,000.
